Saturday, March 20th
Spring is here and so expect the same for the skiing condition. Lanes are being dragged and tracks set when possible but some trails have dirt at the crests of hills. Expert trails are closed and will remain closed. A,B,C,D,H,Y,W are currently still open but H & C are expected to be closed on Monday.
This will be the last posted trail report on this website for the season. Please call the lodge for the latest trail conditions for the remainder of the spring at (906) 387-4918.
Don’t forget the Annual Friends of Valley Spur Membership Meeting at the lodge on Saturday March 27th at 10am. This is a general meeting of all members and the annual board elections are to be held on this date so don’t miss out!

Monday, March 15th
Expert trails remain closed. Beginner and intermediate trails were last groomed on Saturday the 13th and reported to still be in good skiing condition on Sunday the 14th. There’s still a good packed base on the trails and some skiing to be had out there so enjoy while you can.

Wednesday, March 10th
All trails were groomed yesterday with the exception of E,F,G and Z which are currently closed due to unsafe ski conditions brought about by the night freeze - day thaw cycles. The next scheduled groom will be to lay some fresh tracks on Friday and then skate lanes are schedules to be rolled on Saturday. There’s still some good skiing to be had out there so we hope to see you out on the trails.

Friday, March 5th
A Fabulous weekend ahead for the annual Taste & Glide! Our groomers are out on the trails this morning. A full groom of the system should be complete by noon. Trails are in excellent condition.
Our Annual Taste & Glide event begins at 11am tomorrow and runs until 3pm. This is a fun family event for skiers and snowshoers alike. Beautiful weather is predicted so come on out and enjoy the day. Ski or snowshoe your way on out to the trail-side buffet tables where Sydney’s of Munising has catered out some spectacular foods and drinks for us. There’s also hot foods and drinks in the lodge and entertainment by Chris Valenti of Marquette. Cost is $18 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under.

Saturday, February 27th
Fresh snow is falling upon us. We received around 3 inches last night to add to our 20 inch base. The Tucker is out on the trails this morning rolling and setting tracks for classic. The Jimmy track truck will be going out around noon to roll and firm up the skate lanes. Skiing & snowshoeing should be fabulous this weekend at Valley Spur. Expect light snow showers or flurries today and tomorrow with a highs around 30 and lows around 20.

Wednesday, February 24th
Lake effect snow bands have brought some fresh snows to Valley Spur. Our groomers were out on the trails this morning bright and early and report that a complete groom of the entire system will take place today. For a better detailed report, call the lodge hotline at: (906) 387-4918.

Sunday, February 21st
The complete groom of the system was made on Thursday with touch-ups made both Friday and Saturday. Our groomers were out on the trails again this morning and report excellent conditions. Loops B, H & A were completely groomed for both skate and stride and skate lanes were dressed up out on the hill tops. It’s a beautiful sunny day out there, so get out and and enjoy!

Tuesday, February 16th
Around 4 to 5 inches of fresh powder fell last evening on the Valley Spur trail system. Our groomers were out on the trails today rolling and setting tracks on all trails and report that all loops are in great shape. Expect scattered snow showers throughout the day today with a high around 30 and lows around 16. Scattered snow showers are possible through the night. Our groomer plans to be out on the trails again on Wednesday if accumulations over one inch are received through the night.

Thursday, February 11th
The trails at Valley Spur are reported to be in fantastic condition! Our groomers have been out on the trails both yesterday and today rolling and setting tracks. A few inches of new powder has freshened the trails up nicely. Our groomers plan to be out on the trails Friday, Saturday and Sunday keeping up with the grooming as needed. The lodge will be open from 10am to 4pm daily throughout the weekend including Monday. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid 20’s during the day throughout the weekend with lows in the teens. Light snow showers are forecast for Sunday and Monday. Looks like a great weekend to get out and ski!

Tuesday, February 9th
All trails were freshly groomed today for both skate and classic and are reported to be in excellent condition with a solid base and “transitional snow”. Expect highs in the 20’s through the week with lows in the teens. Light flurries with very little snow accumulation is expected over the next few days.

All loops were freshly groomed for both skate and classic on Wednesday and are reported to be in excellent condition. Expect a high of around 30 today with partly sunny skies and a low around 18. Looks like a great day to get out and enjoy the trails!

Sunday, January 31st
The lake effect snow machine is working today. Expect bouts of beautiful sunshine mixed with lake effect snow showers, some heavy at times. Our groomers are hot on the trails this morning at Valley Spur and will remain there through this afternoon in an effort to keep up with the snowfall. Expect a high of around 18 today with a low around zero.

It’s a beautiful sunny day at Valley Spur! Our groomer was out checking things out on the trails this morning. He touched up a few things and reports that the trails are in spectacular condition so get out there and enjoy! Today’s weather forecast: It’s currently clear and sunny. High is expected near 16 with a low of around 3. Light snow showers are possible.

Around 3 inches of fresh powder fell overnight at Valley Spur. All loops were groomed for both skate and classic today and are reported to be in excellent condition. Scattered snow showers are forecast for today with a high of 16 and a low of 3 degrees expected for tonight.

Tuesday, January 26th
Colder temperatures and fresh snow have arrived at Valley Spur! Around 3 inches of fresh powder fell on the trails overnight and more light snow falling currently. Our groomers are out on the trails this morning and are reporting good to excellent conditions. All loops will be groomed and those that were previously closed will be reopened. Conditions should be great so get out there and get some miles on, that Noque marathon is just a few days away!
